Hi Blogger

After reading a good blog I tend to analyze it to see what the person behind it might be like.

I've been in the goal setting business a while now and just like most people with experience in different areas of expertise, I can tell a lot about a person just by speaking to them or reading something they've written.

You haven't wrtten any goals on paper for awhile have you? And if you have I'll bet you haven't looked at them for a long time. Right?

Goal setting is hard work, and harder still if you don't have short range goals, mid range goals and long range goals.

I think you'll agree that few people really take the time to set goals of any kind.

When is the last time you really thought about setting some real goals, or are you like the vast majority of people who just "hope for the best"?

You already know successful people aren't "just lucky", they know how to set effective goals and reach them.

I was like that once, you might be also.

How about changing all that.

Come on over to goals+ and learn exactly how to set effective goals, act on them and be the real you.

There's a ton of FREE information and who knows, this little insert in your blog might well change your life!

Happy New Year! 11/15/2005 08:30:00 pm|W|P| Anonymous Anonymous|W|P| Profession

HELLO Blogger

I was going to leave a little tip on New Years Resolutions and how to make the best of them.

Unfortunately, I would not be able to keep it brief.

Goal setting takes effort and you really have to know how to do it to do it well. Especially the follow-up.

That's why I've included a lot of FREE goal setting information on my website, to help folks like you be more successful.

In fact, you can start now, and get a head start on the new year - and the rest of your life.

Think goal setting isn't important?

Spend a little time at Developing Goals and you'll change your mind.

Have a GREAT day! 5/20/2005 01:50:00 pm|W|P| Allan Lim|W|P| Most man (including myself) tends to take the romance out of the whole ideal about give someon we love something really beautiful and nice. while i can;t say that i am particular conversant in the technicalities of the carbonite, i do have a couple of tips to share and perhaps offer some insights into the diamond lobangs in singapore. In jewellery business, the concept is really service. I remember not too long ago....a good friend Ron and I decided to commit our life savings to a miniscule rock, we are like 2 blind men in a field of glittering gems....we can;t see shit... luckily we got good advice and sat at Larry's one evening listening to the sale manager giving us private tutorials about diamond. And the education process goes on for about a month...everytime there is some nice pieces in stock he would call us for a viewing and within a couple of weeks we became quite good at differentiating a colour g from a colour d. Understanding diamonds takes time, and lots of pratice. so do not buy the first piece you see....unless you are damn sure. 1) Setting of the diamond. After we have chosen the rock, the next step of the decision would be to set it. a good setting for the diamond hold the diamond just tight enough to give the wearer a secure feeling while still expose the maximum pavilon to light. Getting the perfect cut is only half the game. Setting it calls for more art than cerebral analysis. The reason why many people buy cartier, tiffany or buglari is not the diamond (although they do have the higer quality ones) it's the design of the band that will encapsulate the fine gem. Unfortunately, most of us men will get the standard tiffany 4 or 6 prongs for lazzare solitaires....althogh this setting is the most classic, i doesn;t really look good for a lazzare emerald cut...thus comes the difference between going to leehwa, goldheart or larry, tiffany. Although the setting is an art. there are a few principles to guide us along... a) no of prongs - the more prong means more secure but less light (not good for smaller carat) b) height of setting - this is the protrusion of the pavilion from the base...the higher the seat the more light but will tend to get caught when your loved one has to dig into jeans pocket.... c) walk into cartier, tiffany and buglari boldly (they are quite close to each other) and ask to look for their rings.....find the one that apeals to you and chances are you can get them done cheaper at larry's. d) there are other private jewellery designers too. work with themto get a designer that is really unique. e) White gold or platinum. this is a question of maintanience. if you get it set in whit gold be prepare to go get it service and polish once a year.... f) Check your diamond settings every 6months. just bring it to the jeweller and they can check the tightness of the prongs for you free. 2) Shopping for the rock a) There are generally 3 type of shops i) The mass market (more advant garde shops) (e.g lee hwa, soo kee etc) ii) The higher end stalls like tiffany or cartier iii) Private jewellers or trader. The surprising thing is....buying a diamond from larry's cost almost the same as from gold heart. My advice is .... for anything below 0.4 go to sk, lee wah type. they are really good at designing small pieces (earings, bracelets andd pendants). for the solitaires, go to larry's or private jewellers...they can definately offer u a better deal, as for lobangs to larry's and private jewellerys do email me seperately and i will introduce u to them. ok folks....enough for now.... Lim Todd Joo's parents are jolly happy people. For the last thirty years, they always have something to laugh at.

Their son's name.

His chinese name is lin2 zhuo1 yu2. Read in chinese it means "to catch fish"

He is one of the divemasters, currently undergoing training by the guru. This is him.

And his blog page. http://pachome1.pacific.net.sg/~todd/blogger/blog.html

And his web. (which is a load of crap) http://www.toadjuice.com

Still, Todd is my brother.

Cos there is not much to bitch about the diving industry without stepping on people's toes or getting a brown nose. Also, there is not much to blog about, its always the usual, who's boat have just sunk, which instructor is sleeping with his students again... yada yada... So i'm writing about something more useful, sharing my experiences that will, hopefully, make a difference in someone's life. How noble. Recently i did the unthinkable. I proposed. With a fat-ass (i think) diamond ring. The diamond is the 2nd most expensive purchase of my life so far, so i did a hell lot of research. I'm gonna share it here. 1) The diamond story. Stumbled on this website that basically post this book about the monopoly of diamond supply to the whole world by some Jews. Bottomline, the price of diamonds is manipulated a single company, and they are also responsible of brain-washing all the women of the world to believe that diamonds are forever, thereby creating this vast market for the diamonds that they sell, burning a hole in every bloke's pocket. Damn those Jews. http://edwardjayepstein.com/diamond/prologue.htm 2) The Cs, thats something very well known by now. So i'll leave you to read it from the websites. 3) Which is more perfect? Lee Hwa Destinee, Gold Heart Hearts on Fire, Soo Kee Brilliant Rose, Larrys Lazare, Diamond industries... There is no commodity in Singapore that is marketed with more BS than diamonds (well, except for those MLM shit). Everybody claims that their diamond is the most perfect, more perfect than the one next door. So who's the fairest of them all? Well, my 2 cts worth: There are generally 3 categories: a) Cheapskates - Those from SK, Taka... certainly not for proposal rings (btw, for marriage proposal, please get a solitaire ring, meaning a ring with 1 x big-ass diamond. Why? Cos those fugging Jews said so..) b) Fancy Cuts - All the BS cuts that is suppose to be more "perfect" than the perfect-ideal cut. Marketing gimicks. Example the Hearts on fire, Hearts and arows, Gabrielle... These are cuts that are actually a slight deviation from the Marcel Tolkowsky (another Jew) original Ideal Cut. They claim to be more brilliant, more sparkle... and therefore they can charge you an arm + a leg. To me, its like telling you that the water that comes out from the Diamond Water Machine is better than Water itself cos the H2O molecules are further apart and thus make you healthier... ??!!?? which is cheebyeabsolutemotherfuckingbullshit x 10. c) The Real McCoy. Ideal cut, 58 facets. These diamonds are available everywhere, with certification from GIA, AGS, Lazare. Except Tiffany, they do not believe in certification. The salesmen said to me:" What cert? Tiffany diamonds got class, no need cert one". Since then Tiffany is regarded by me to be in the same league as MLMs... Back to the ideal cut, its a formula laid down by this 21 year old kid, his formula outlines the ratio of the dimensions to achieve the most internal refractions. I believe him, cos he was an engineer, so am i. Among the different vendors offering the ideal cut, the Lazare cut (carried by Larry) is suppose have the tightest tolerance for the cut proportions. Which was what i bought. Bottomline, any certified IDEAL CUT diamond should do the job. I have been toying with an idea to start a collection of dive logs of our guys. This collection of logs has 2 purpose. 1) to create a library of dive locations and type of diving for others to reference 2) compile a series of logs of a same place thru time and using it to understand the detoerations and/or changes to a particular place : eg, tiger reef, lembeh, sipadan. A task like this could be quite mamoth consideration the sheer amount of dive's we have done thru the years....... The submitted logs do not have to follow a specific format. just what we wrote is enough. submission of the scaned pages, faxed or otherwise would be compiled and posted somewhere in the net....... if this gets on, maybe one day we can have all the stuff printed into a book..... let me know your thoughts? |W|P| 111586725041075361|W|P| Hey Boys and Girls|W|P| allanlimyc@gmail.com 5/14/2005 12:15:00 am|W|P| Anonymous Anonymous|W|P| including all our trips where the DM loses us? 5/14/2005 12:22:00 am|W|P| Blogger Allan Lim|W|P| hey!
